A show about pop culture and the universe of Divas

The Ministry of Tourism, Special Secretariat of Culture and Government of the State of São Paulo, through the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy, Plataforma Movente present DELLAS21.

“DELLAS21” is a contemporary dance duet created by artists Daniela Moraes and Layla Bucaretchi. As a result of research that began in 2016, the show searches the imagination of Pop Culture and its divas for ways to produce a body that orbits between contagion and delusion in the face of the power of its images. Passing through different genres (from tecnobrega to British pop) and references ranging from Joelma and Marília Mendonça to Lady Gaga and Adele, the show seeks to understand the ambivalence of how to be human and “almost” divine at the same time.

DELLAS21 goes through the contradictions of the POP artist's relationship with success: on the one hand, the desire to share his artistic vision, transforming his personal life into a public persona whose work is disseminated and reinvented throughout the world; on the other, the crises that this exposure and the pressures arising from the growing demands of the cultural industry entail.
